Weed control at Kalamurina
Kalamurina is, in effect, weed-free. This makes it almost unique in central Australia, where a range of invasive species (such as Buffel Grass) are well established across most properties.
To maintain the weed-free status of Kalamurina, AWC implements rigorous quarantine measures (vehicle-wash down, etc). Monitoring of the floodplain for any weeds transported by floodwaters is also carried out.
