Feral cat and fox control at Dakalanta

Feral cat and fox control at Dakalanta

Feral cats and foxes are common in the region.

AWC implements fox control including baiting and opportunistic shooting.  However, while baiting can be employed to reduce fox densities, there is no effective landscape-scale control for cats (cats do not generally take bait). Cats are also shot opportunistically.

Importantly, AWC is undertaking detailed research across our network of sanctuaries (for example, our work at Mornington) to develop more effective, landscape-scale control of feral cats.
